Suspension: Downhill Dread is our working title for project "Bike Game", a prototype for a mountain biking horror game pitched to indie dev Serenity Forge as part of RealXP Lab's externship program.
Role: Gameplay Programmer
Contributions:
Scripting core bike player controller mechanics including: movement, turning, airtime tilt, speed boosts from a perfect landing, getting slowed down by hitting obstacles, etc.
Making gameplay compatible with controller and mouse/keyboard
Collaborating with a team of 9 externs to design, build, test, and polish an intense mountain biking horror experience
Executing pull requests, doing code reviews, and solving merge conflicts to integrate features from 150+ commits while leveraging agile workflows
Conducting weekly sync meetings and play tests with Serenity Forge representatives, industry mentors, and external studio stakeholders
Delivering a polished, 5-minute prototype with a complete gameplay loop, terrain, obstacles, and cutscenes
